-Still the perfect link after more than 20 Year in Service

Ramnäs chain has been in service for more than 20 years at the Troll B semi-submersible in the North Sea.

After meticulously inspection of the 152 mm diameter stud link , the chain still shows top quality with no loose studs and low corrosion impact . All studs are found without displacement in any direction and the same applies to the perfect impressions and indentations due to Ramnäs asymmetrical stud design and stud expansion process.    Read More>>

Double delivery capacity with new furnace system

Ramnäs Bruk new furnace system is now in production. The area of the production facility has been increased with 182 m2 to hold the new heat treatment system.

The furnace system will give a continuous heat treatment process with an improved and even more stabilized production process and shortened lead time. Ramnäs Bruk’s capacity will be doubled in 2015, going from 10.000 tons per year, to 20.000 tons per year.

Our new furnaces are powered by LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). Both the CO2 and the sulphur emissions will be reduced when using LNG. A cooling water system is used and from this cooling water the excessive heat is used to heat the production buildings. These actions are reducing Ramnäs Bruk footprint on the environment.

Bit by bit …. Building for the Future

The installation of Ramnäs Bruk new heat treatment system is proceeding according to plan. The work to raise the modules and platforms for the hardening and annealing furnaces has started and will run the forthcoming weeks.

Ramnäs Bruk new furnace system including a new cooling water system and LNG-station will be in full production beginning of 2015.

Normally two loads of chain leave Ramnäs Bruk each week, heading towards the Port of Uddevalla or the Port of Gävle. From the port our chain leaves Sweden for its final destination anywhere in the world.

Highway to an Improved Future

Ramnäs Bruk’s entire personnel perform a systematic development-work in order to improve the procedures in each part of the organization. During the last weeks all personnel have participated an education in Lean Production where new ways of thinking and acting were presented and well received.

Keep up the Summer Heat!

Ramnäs is keeping up the summer heat from the holidays with our new furnace. The new furnace was installed, initiated and tested in May this year and it has an increased chain speed with 30% compared to our prior furnace.
